Father and Son
My friend Ken was a Princeton graduate, football player and Army captain. His father served on the F.D.N.Y. When Ken’s son was born that magic power most of us fathers feel when we realize we have been given a precious gift and an important responsibility, took over. His lovely wife, Missy, took a photograph of this tender moment between father and son and I was moved by it, so I asked if I could paint from it. The radiant smile of little Ken and the way he’s clenching his father’s shirt is very endearing.
